What I Have Been Watching

Me

Last night, I shared what I have been listening to, but my listening time doesn’t take up a huge portion of my day. I basically have the iPod on when I am driving to school, before class begins, during my planning period, and then on the way home. I have the TV on a lot more during the day… especially if there is ironing to be done. (During the Christmas break, I managed to put a crease in everything I own. Well, not the drawers and socks… but everything that is meant to be worn on the outside.)

In honor of my hours spent in front of the small screen, I offer up the following selections for what has been occupying my time:

Star Trek: Deep Space 9 I just finished the series over the break. I have been watching the entire series on DVD thanks to Netflix, and I finished halfway through Christmas break. For the record, this means I have finished Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise. How big a nerd am I? (FYI - that is a rhetorical question.)

Battlestar Galactica: Season 1 This is season one of the 2004 series, not the 1978 series. Pooch mentioned this one, and his suggestion was enough to make me want to check it out. It is much darker than any of the Star Trek series, and thus, somewhat more believable. Well, as believable as sci-fi can be. Again, this is thanks to Netflix… and thankfully, season 2 comes out tomorrow.

Mythbusters My brother deserves a kick in his sitter for this one. I really had no need for another TV show in my life, but he mentioned this one a couple of different times, so I had to check it out to see what all the fuss was about. I am now hooked… they must do subliminal messages or something because I am currently suffering withdrawals. The basic premise is that this team of folks with experience in special effects and engineering take a myth… say the idea that diving underwater can save you if you are being shot at… then do everything in their power to either prove or disprove the myth. Trust me, it is much more entertaining than it sounds. Watching this show makes me wish that I had a different job… if I had known jobs like this existed when I was a kid, I would have definitely wanted to do this. They blow crap up and get paid for it! That is every little boys dream job!

Family Guy I probably shouldn’t find this nearly as entertaining as I do, and I should probably feel at least some guilt for finding so much of it outright hysterical. For a guy my age with adult-onset ADD… it is perfect.

What about you? What are you watching?

I am ashamed to list all of the shows that I watch here. Unfortunately, I have turned into a couch potato. That has been my escape from reality.

You know, I think I am safe in saying this, because I doubt my siter is even aware that this site exists…

    You know Earl’s ex-wife, Joy?

That is so totally my sister. Not that my sister is married to a black dude called Crab-man, but the whole loud, blonde, somewhat-crass southern thing? Yep, that is my sister.
